Sarah Omega
(Founder & Executive Director)

Sarah Omega is the Founder and Executive Director for Let’s End Fistula Initiative after holding the position of the Country Program Manager for 8 years prior to LEFI’s formal registration as a Non-Governmental Organization.

Her passion in advocating for women living with fistula started after a successful surgical treatment that ended her 12 years of living with fistula. Since 2007, Sarah has been championing for maternal health at both local and international levels.

She served as the Kenya’s Maternal Health Advocate under UNFPA Kenya Office from 2007 to 2009, served as the Treasurer of the Board for Gynocare Women’s and Fistula Hospital Kenya 2010-2015, served as a Board Member for Fistula Foundation California USA 2012-2014, and worked as a Consultant in Communication for Fistula Foundation 2013-May 2020. Sarah also serves as LEFI’s Board of Directors Secretary and as an ex-official member.

Sarah Omega’s passion to speak for the voiceless (women and girls living with fistula) was inspired, integrated, and ignited through successful graduation from the Leadership Training at iLEAP Seattle USA in 2012.

She was awarded a Certificate of Recognition by the United Nations in Kenya on the UN Day 24th October 2013 for outstanding advocacy on behalf of Women with Obstetric Fistula and recognized as a Timeless Woman of Wonder in 2015 by the Timeless Women of Wonder Foundation (Africa).

Francis Kimani
(Deputy Director & Program Manager)

Francis Kimani is the administrative Manager (Finance & Administration) of Let’s End Fistula Initiative.
He started serving in this role in January 2020.

Prior to joining LEFI, he served as a Manager and Administrator of various tertiary education institutions. He brings over 10 years of experience in managing human resource and general administration of private sector institutions of higher learning in Kenya.

Mr. Kimani is an astute administrator and Consultant and Trainer with over 15 years of experience on governance and management.
A graduate of Moi University, Kenya, he studied Bachelor of Business Management with a major in Accounting and Finance and has a professional qualification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

He is passionate about women and youth empowerment with a wealth of experience in training and management.

Elizabeth Odour (Administrator & Executive Assistant)

Elizabeth Oduor is currently the Administrator and Executive Assistant at Let’s End Fistula Initiative. She enjoys the satisfaction of running an organization smoothly and maintaining order.

She has worked as a Technician in the Audio Visual Department at Smoothtel & Data solutions Limited, an Administrative Assistant at Kingdom Excellence Assembly, an Administrator at Alphax College, and an Administrator at ChiroWa Holdings Limited.

In addition to over 6years of experience in the Administrative role, Liz is dependable and can always be counted on to ensure that organizational set objectives are met.
She is passionate about Leadership and Empowering Women and Girls.

She has a background in Business and Information Technology and has also undergone a rigorous Virtual Assistant training offered by ALX Africa, a program that gave her stamina and skills required to be an Executive Assistant.

Additionally, she has undertaken the Foundational Leadership Course offered by Oaks+Crown which empowered her to be a compassionate and impactful leader in her organization and in the community at large.

Martin Thiongo
(Program Officer - Youth Programs)

Martin Thiongo is the Program Officer for Youth Programs at Let’s End Fistula Initiative (LEFI).
With over 10 years of experience leading and implementing youth-focused programs, including roles as a College Registrar, Children’s Home Manager, and mentor in various enterprises and CBOs, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to LEFI.

Martin possesses strong leadership, program management, and mentorship skills.
He has successfully increased youth participation in LEFI programs.
Driven by a passion for social change and community development, Martin is dedicated to empowering young people and contributing to the success of LEFI’s youth initiatives.

Caroline Minayo
(Program Officer - Partnership and Fundraising)

Caroline Minayo is currently serving as a Program Officer for Partnerships & Fundraising at Let’s End Fistula Initiative (LEFI).
In this role she plays a pivotal role in fostering strategic collaborations and mobilizing resources to support LEFI’s mission of empowering Women and ending Fistula in Kenya.

Prior to joining LEFI, Carol has worked at Metrocosmo Limited, where she held the position of an Office Administrator and at Alupe Hospital, Ministry of Health Busia County.
These roles provided her with valuable insights and a deeper understanding of community needs.

With a profound passion for empowering young people and women, Caroline is committed to fostering impactful partnerships and enhancing organizational performance.

Kennedy Kiprotich (Program Officer - Intern)

Kennedy Kiprotich is the Program Officer – Intern of Let’s End Fistula Initiative. He started serving in this role in January 2022.

Prior to joining LEFI, he has served as an Administrative Assistant at Positive Action Consultancy, an Accounts Assistant at Pace Primary Mixed Boarding School & an Audit Assistant at MUK & Associates.
He brings over a bag of experiences in auditing, accounting and general administration.

Professionally qualified as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) successfully completing the three levels.
Kiprotich is passionate about uplifting the looked down upon by the society and empowering them.

Kakai Faith Mwenje (Administrative Assistant)

Faith holds a Higher Diploma in Public Relations and a Certificate in International Computer Driving License (ICDL). She is currently serving as Let’s End Fistula Initiative, (LEFI) Administrative Assistant.
Faith joined LEFI in February 2021 out of her passion towards LEFI’s mission.

Prior to her position at LEFI, she served as the Personal Assistant to the General Manager, One Heart Children’s Home Turbo, Kenya for a period of one year, where she helped in administrative work, event planning and maintain the diary for the general manager.

She also worked as an Intern in Alphax College as a Public Relations Officer.
She has previously worked as an Administrator at Direct Sales and Marketing Ltd for almost three years.
She brings on board her administration skills and experience.

In this position, Faith works closely with the Executive Director as the assistant as well as providing support to the Program Manager.
She serves as the primary contact for the office.
In her position Faith is responsible to provide administrative and logistical support for the projects, initiative and programs in LEFI.

She is expected to assist assigned managers and team members by maintaining diaries, calendars, receiving and composing communications such as correspondence with relevant stakeholders and writing reports.

She is also tasked with development of project/program materials, organizing meetings and events as well as maintaining data management and filling for project/program.

She hopes to use her knowledge and skills to ensure LEFI’s activities and relationships grow and impact more people locally and internationally.

Florence Chemomenyu Justus
(Regional Supervisor)

Florence Chemomenyu Justus is a Fistula Survivor from Cheptais, Bungoma County, Kenya who lived with fistula for five years.
She is a mother of nine children and blessed to have four grandchildren.
She is a successful farmer and community health advocate.

In the year 2010 she underwent a successful surgical repair.
In 2011 Florence joined Let’s End Fistula Initiative and served as a Regional Representative (RR) in Bungoma County working with the Cheptais Solidarity Women’s Group for almost ten years.
She has been trained and equipped with skills, that have helped her propel her group to great heights of success emerging the first group, among others.

Through serving in her position as an RR in LEFI, it opened opportunities for her in the community.
She has worked as a Treasurer in Chesiro Farmers’ Co-operative Society for six years. Currently she is a volunteer in the office of the Women Representative, Bungoma County.

In the year 2021, LEFI promoted Florence as one of LEFI’s staff serving to the role of a Regional Coordinator.
Her role in this position is to oversee four of LEFI’s Solidarity Groups in several counties namely: Bungoma, Busia, Trans Nzoia and West Pokot Counties.
This was following her demonstration of hard work, commitment and passion in advocating and supporting women living with fistula in Kenya.

Through her community outreach, she has been able to reach more than 2,000 fistula patients and linked them with treatment.
She has also been able to educate her community on safe motherhood, fistula treatment and prevention.
Florence leads the Cheptais Solidarity Group consisting of twenty-three (23) women, all fistula survivors.

The Group has shown tremendous progress and all the members have managed to uplift their families and person lives, all due to Florence’s hard work and good leadership.

Rosalina Ambayisi (Regional Supervisor)

Rosalina Atieno Ambayisi hails from Matungu in Kakamega County. She holds a Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management from the University of Nairobi.

Rosalina is a fistula survivor, who lived with the condition for 23 years.
Her condition was treated in three phases.
She had her first surgical procedure in Kakamega, in the year 2007.
In 2010, after the birth of her third born twins operation, she had to undergo a second repair surgery in Kakamega.
In the year 2019, she had her third and last successful repair surgery.

She joined Let’s End Fistula Initiative in 2011, where she serves as one of the Regional Representatives in Kakamega County, working with the Matungu Fistula Survivors of Hope Solidarity Women Group, a responsibility she has held for close to ten years.

Her Group comprises of twenty-three fistula survivors.
She has been trained and equipped with skills, that have helped her propel her group to great heights of success.
Her passion for helping others has sustained her Group and the income generating activities they engage in.

LEFI as an organization has helped in funding her trainings which include HIV testing & counseling, and adherence support.
This has enabled her to volunteer as a Counselor on HIV/AIDs at Namasanda Health Centre in Matungu.
With her counselling skills, she assists the women in her Group with free counselling.

Currently, Rosalina has been appointed as one of the Regional Coordinators overseeing four of LEFI’s Solidarity Groups in Kakamega, Busia, Siaya and Bungoma Counties. She displays herself as committed and passionate leader, with excellent interpersonal skills.

Joseph Amani Chindia (Regional Coordinator)

Joseph Amani Chindia is a Regional Coordinator at Let’s End Fistula Initiative.

Amani has for over fifteen years demonstrated passion and drive to positively impact the community.
He has been a part of the implementation of several community projects.

Apart from his Regional Coordinator duties he also does: HIV testing, Implements SRHR Program with IPAS African Alliance he is also a BOG Chair at Emako Primary, the Founder and Coordinator of the Volunteer Restoration of Hope Counsellor’s Association (VORHCA) CBO, Kakamega Area Council member and WADADIA NGO Treasurer.

Amani has undergone several trainings where he has gained skills and knowledge that coupled with his hard work and passion make him great in community work.
These training include PMTCT training, Clinical Health Records, Community Based First Aid, Psycho-Social Support/Training Counselling and TOT Training on HIV/AIDS Stigma reduction and community mobilization.

During his free time, Amani enjoys watching football and meeting with his good friends.
